Magnetic particle imaging using linear magnetization response-driven harmonic signal of magnetoresistive sensor

چکیده

Abstract We achieved a harmonic-rich signal from linear magnetization responses of magnetic nanoparticles under 40 ? T/ 0 excitation field to facilitate particle imaging (MPI). In contrast, large harmonic are typically attributed the nonlinear field-dependent characteristics particles, thus questioning technical and clinical issues toward human-sized MPI scanner. By using magnetoresistive sensor, we propose strategy exploit tracers at low regime where standard may struggle with spatial decoding. The high-contrast images solid ferucarbotran phantom bring new expectation use MPI.

Slew-rate dependence of tracer magnetization response in magnetic particle imaging.

Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) is a new biomedical imaging technique that produces real-time, high-resolution tomographic images of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle tracers. Currently, 25 kHz and 20 mT/μ0 excitation fields are common in MPI, but lower field amplitudes may be necessary for patient safety in future designs. Here, we address fundamental questions about MPI tracer magneti...

Superparamagnetic nanoparticle detection using second harmonic of magnetization response.

We introduce a method to improve the detection sensitivity for the magnetization M of superparamagnetic nanoparticles (MNP). The M response of MNP to an applied magnetic field H (M-H characteristics) could be divided into a linear region and a saturation region, which are separated at a transition point H(k). When applying an excitation magnetic field (H(ac)) with a frequency ω0 and an addition...

Second-harmonic magnetoresistive imaging to authenticate and recover data from magnetic storage media

A scanning magnetoresistive (MR) microscope is developed for high-resolution imaging of magnetic tapes and digital media. Second-harmonic detection is used to remove thermal anomalies. We are able to image sufficient lengths of tape for authentication purposes and for data recovery from damaged samples. The second-harmonic technique provides high-contrast magnetic images of the magnetic storage...

Detection of nuclear magnetic resonance with an anisotropic magnetoresistive sensor

We report detection of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) using an anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensor. A “remote-detection” arrangement was used, in which protons in flowing water were pre-polarized in the field of a superconducting NMR magnet, adiabatically inverted, and subsequently detected with an AMR sensor situated downstream from the magnet and the adiabatic inverter. AMR sensing is...
